Description
About
In a big room, we see an amplifier. Connected to the amplifier is a device. Coming out of the amplifier there are 400 meters of a mass of tangled cables. At the other side of the room, there are two sound boxes, with cables coming out of them. Those cables are fixed to the floor. The amplifier is turned on, but no sound is heard. I wrap the cables to my body, stretch them out in the direction of the sound boxes, and untie the tangled cables with the intention to reach the sound boxes. Remaining with the cables tied to my body I changed the position of the cables in order to untie the knots and advance. The performance ends when I manage to connect the 400 meters of cables to those cables that are coming out of the boxes, broadcasting the sound that comes out through the device connected to the amplifier.
In this work I explore the teleological structure of action, the target of an action, the “in view of”. It was also the first time that I explored a linear action with a long performance time. It was my first performance where the timing is long, but strongly depending on the development of the action.
